Non-surgical Chin Augmentation
Non-Surgical Chin Augmentation & Chin Enhancement in New York
A non-surgical chin augmentation can bring about subtle, but effective changes to the size, shape, and projection of the chin. Strengthening a weak or recessed chin can help create a stronger-looking jaw line, while dramatically improving overall facial balance. For certain candidates who have a mildly recessed chin, or who wish to avoid surgical augmentation with implants, a non-surgical technique using temporary dermal fillers may offer outstanding results, with no downtime.*
How is a non-surgical chin augmentation performed?
During a non-surgical chin augmentation, the size and position of the chin is improved by injecting temporary dermal fillers into the chin, such as Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Perlane®, and RADIESSE®. By placing injections strategically, Dr. Levine can help build the size of the chin, reshape an irregular chin, or bring the chin into balance with the overall facial profile. The procedure is fast and comfortable, with no patient downtime.*
Who is a good candidate for non-surgical chin augmentation?
People with a small or receded chin, a poorly defined jaw line, a weak facial profile, soft tissue asymmetry, or soft tissue trauma to the chin may be good candidates for non-surgical chin augmentation. People who wish to improve the size, shape, and position of the chin, but who don’t want to undergo surgical intervention, may also be good candidates for this procedure. Dr. Levine will gladly meet with you to discuss whether you are a good candidate for non-surgical chin augmentation.
How long will the results last from non-surgical chin augmentation?
Visible improvement can be seen immediately, and the results may last 6 to 12 months, depending on the specific dermal fillers used.*
How can I prepare for a non-surgical chin augmentation?
During your initial consultation, Dr. Levine will thoroughly discuss your goals and expectations, including possible risks and the best way to prepare for your treatment. As much as possible, patients should avoid taking aspirin and ibuprofen-containing products (such as Advil and Motrin), St. John’s Wort, high doses of vitamin E supplements, and other blood thinners (unless medically necessary) for 1 week prior to treatment in order to minimize the risk of bruising. Patients should also avoid red wine and multivitamins for 2 days prior to treatment.
What should I expect during non-surgical chin augmentation?
Non-surgical chin augmentation is performed on an outpatient basis in our offices. The procedure is quick and simple, and can usually be completed within 20 minutes.* Dr. Levine will place the filler strategically, using a series of tiny injections across the treatment area. Topical or local anesthesia may be used to ensure patient comfort.
What should I expect after non-surgical chin augmentation?
Mild bruising and swelling is possible, but usually not present, for a few days after treatment. There is no special post-treatment care necessary, though anti-bruising products are offered. In most cases, you may resume your normal activities immediately following your procedure.*
